This privacy policy explains what personal information MOMO HAIR collects through momohairbyliz.com and when you book with us, how we use it, and the choices you have. We follow Canada's privacy law, the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

What we collect

When you book an appointment (online, by phone or in the salon): your name, phone number, email address, the service you want, the date and time, and any notes you give us about your hair.

When you visit the salon: the services you had, what you paid, and notes about your hair (for example a colour formula), so we can give you the same result next time.

When you contact us: what you write to us and your contact details, so we can reply.

When you use this website: basic information your browser sends, such as the pages you visit, the type of device and browser, and roughly where you are (city level). See "Cookies and analytics" below.

We do not ask for or keep payment card numbers on this website.

We only send you news and offers by email if you have agreed to receive them. Every such email has an unsubscribe link, and you can stop them at any time.

Before and after photos

We post photos of clients' hair only with the client's permission. If you see a photo of yourself and want it removed, contact us and we will take it down.

Cookies and analytics

This website uses Google Analytics and Google Ads. They use small files called cookies to count visits, see which pages are useful, and tell us when a visit from an ad leads to a booking. Google receives this information under its own privacy policy. We do not use it to identify you personally.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or use the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The website still works without them.

The map on our site is from Google Maps, and the booking form is provided by our own booking system. Links to Instagram, Facebook and YouTube take you to those sites, which have their own privacy policies.

Who we share it with

We never sell or rent your personal information.

We share it only with companies that help us run the salon and this website, and only as much as they need. These include Amazon Web Services, which hosts this website and our booking system and sends our appointment emails and texts, and Google, which provides our email inbox and the analytics and ads tools above. They are not allowed to use your information for anything else.

Some of these companies store information on servers in the United States, so it may be subject to the laws of that country.

We may also share information if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep your booking and visit history while you are a client, so we can look after your hair, and for as long as tax and other laws require. When we no longer need it, we delete it.

Keeping it safe

We store your information on secure systems with limited access. No system on the internet is perfectly safe, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information, and we will tell you if a breach puts you at real risk of harm, as the law requires.

Your choices

You can ask us to:

show you the personal information we have about you
correct anything that is wrong
stop sending you news and offers
delete your information, unless the law requires us to keep it

Children

Parents or guardians book appointments for clients under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through this website.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page with a new date.

Momo, our chat helper

Momo is an AI chat helper on our website, run with Anthropic's Claude. When you chat with Momo, your messages are sent to Anthropic to write the answer. We keep a short record of the questions asked for up to 90 days, so we can improve our answers and our website; it does not include your name unless you give it. If you ask Momo for a callback, we keep the name, phone number and note you give for up to 30 days, only to contact you. Please don't share health details or anything private in the chat.
